Machine Overview
The Orwak Flex 5030 is a versatile waste compactor designed to reduce the volume of a wide range of materials whilst improving waste handling efficiency and reducing disposal costs.
Using a heavy-duty bag collection system, the machine is capable of compacting containers and packaging waste into a manageable format, making it particularly suitable for applications where volume reduction and containment are key requirements.
The Orwak Flex 5030 is suitable for reducing the volume of nominally empty hazardous waste containers, including plastic oil drums, steel paint tins and similar packaging. By crushing containers into a heavy-duty bag collection system, the machine helps contain residual liquids whilst significantly reducing waste volume, storage requirements and disposal costs.
Recent trials have demonstrated the effectiveness of the Orwak Flex 5030 in compacting hazardous waste containers, including 20 litre plastic oil drums and 10 litre steel paint tins.
Proven Hazardous Waste Container Compaction
The Orwak Flex 5030 has been successfully tested on hazardous waste packaging, reducing the volume of oil drums, paint tins and similar containers by crushing them into a heavy-duty collection bag.
This process helps contain any residual liquids remaining within the containers whilst significantly reducing waste volume, storage requirements and disposal costs.
Following successful trials, a machine has been supplied to BEP at Sellafield for hazardous waste container compaction. A detailed case study will be provided once available.

Typical Containers
The Orwak Flex 5030 is suitable for compacting a wide range of nominally empty hazardous waste containers, including:
- Plastic oil drums
- Steel paint tins
- Lubricant containers
- Chemical containers
- Industrial packaging waste
- Hazardous waste packaging
- Manufacturing and engineering waste streams
If you are unsure whether your waste stream is suitable, please contact us to discuss your application.
Why Compact Hazardous Waste?
Many hazardous waste streams are disposed of according to volume rather than weight. Compacting waste before disposal can significantly reduce storage space requirements and lower overall waste management costs.
The Orwak Flex 5030 NHD provides an effective solution for organisations seeking to improve waste handling efficiency whilst maintaining safe disposal practices.

Hazardous Waste Container Compaction in Action
The images in the gallery below show the Orwak Flex 5030 compacting nominally empty hazardous waste containers, including 20 litre plastic oil drums and 10 litre steel paint tins.
The machine reduces waste volume by crushing containers into a heavy-duty collection bag, helping organisations improve waste handling efficiency whilst reducing disposal costs.
